Iris: Period & Cycle Tracker · Last updated: April 2026
What We Store
The data you enter — period dates, symptoms, mood, notes, and settings — is stored only on your device using iOS's secure local storage. Nothing is sent to our servers because we don't have any.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you sign in with Apple, your data syncs via iCloud Key-Value Store — the same iCloud account your iPhone already uses. Iris never has access to your iCloud data. It passes directly between your devices through Apple's infrastructure.
You can remove your Iris data from iCloud at any time: iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Iris → Delete Data.
Sign in with Apple
Iris uses Sign in with Apple only as an identifier to associate your local data with your iCloud account for sync. We store only an anonymous Apple User ID locally on your device. We never receive your email address or any personal information from Apple.
What We Don't Do
- We do not collect, store, or sell your personal health data
- We do not use analytics SDKs or collect behavioral data for our own purposes
- We do not share your cycle, symptom, or mood data with any third parties
- We do not have access to any of your health information
- We do not require an account to use the app
Advertising
The free version of Iris displays banner ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as IDFV) and coarse location for the purpose of serving contextual ads. Your health data is never used for ad targeting — AdMob has no access to your cycle, symptom, or mood data.
You can remove all ads permanently with a one-time in-app purchase. Once ads are removed, AdMob is not initialised and no advertising data is collected.
Notifications
Local notifications (period reminders, fertile window alerts) are scheduled entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to any server.
Data Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: Profile → Delete Account & Data. This permanently removes your profile, all cycle logs, and your iCloud backup immediately.
Alternatively, deleting the Iris app removes all local data from your device. To also remove iCloud data: iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Iris → Delete Data.
Children's Privacy
Iris is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you via an in-app message.
