Help with Iris

Bugs, ideas or anything else
It helps to include your iPhone model and iOS version.
Getting started
How do I log my period?
On the Today tab, tap My Period Started. Iris marks today and the next few days as your period. To log a different day, open the Calendar, tap the day and mark it as a period day.
How does Iris predict my next period?
It learns from the periods you log. Iris estimates when you ovulate and counts your next period forward from there, so predictions get closer each cycle. Logging a positive LH test moves the prediction to match.
My predictions look wrong
Check that every past period is marked on the Calendar, including ones before you installed Iris. A missing period makes a cycle look twice as long. If your cycles really do vary a lot, set your cycle type to Irregular in Profile and Iris will show a likely window instead of one date.
Can I hide log items I don't use?
Yes. In Profile, customise the tracker and switch off anything you don't track. Your daily log only shows what's left.
Backup and new phones
Is my data backed up?
Only if you sign in with Apple in the Profile tab. Then Iris backs up to your own iCloud, which only you can open. If you never sign in, your data lives only on your iPhone.
I reinstalled Iris and my data is gone
- Open Profile and sign in with the same Apple ID you used before.
- Tap Restore Data from iCloud.
If you never signed in, the data was stored only in the old install and can't be recovered.
Moving to a new iPhone
Sign in with Apple on your old phone first so a backup exists. On the new phone, install Iris, sign in with the same Apple ID and tap Restore Data from iCloud.
Partner sharing
How do I share my cycle with my partner?
- In Profile, open Partner Sharing and tap Set up Partner Sharing.
- Copy the code or tap Share Invite and send it.
- Your partner installs Iris, chooses I'm supporting a partner and enters the code.
Both of you need to be signed in to iCloud on your phones.
What can my partner see?
Your phase, cycle day and predictions, plus a short daily tip on how to support you. Mood and symptoms stay private unless you turn them on. It's view only, and the shared summary is end-to-end encrypted.
How do I stop sharing?
Open Partner Sharing in Profile and stop sharing. The shared record is deleted and your partner's view stops updating. You can also make a new code, which cuts off the old one.
Apple Health
How do I connect Apple Health?
In Profile, tap Apple Health and allow access. Iris syncs period flow, basal body temperature, ovulation tests, cervical mucus, weight and sleep in both directions.
Data isn't syncing
Apple Health permissions are per data type. Open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps, choose Iris and make sure the types you want are switched on.
Widgets
How do I add the Iris widget?
- Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen.
- Tap Edit, then Add Widget.
- Search for Iris and pick the small or medium size.
For the Lock Screen, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose the Lock Screen and add Iris from the widget list.
The widget shows the wrong day
Open Iris once. The widget moves forward on its own each midnight for two weeks after you last opened the app, and refreshes every time you log something.
The Lock Screen widget looks blank
If your iPhone hides widget details while locked, the widget shows its outline until you unlock. That keeps your cycle private on a locked screen.
Reminders
I'm not getting reminders
Check that notifications are allowed for Iris in the iPhone Settings app under Notifications. Then choose which reminders you want in the Notifications section of Profile.
How do I set a pill or medication reminder?
Add your medication in Profile and pick a time. Iris reminds you every day and you can mark doses as taken from your daily log.
Ads and Support Iris
How do I remove ads?
In Profile, tap Support Iris and make the one-time purchase. There's no subscription, and every feature stays free whether you buy it or not.
I bought it but still see ads
Open Support Iris in Profile and tap Restore purchase, signed in with the Apple ID you bought it with.
Are the ads personalised?
No. Iris asks for non-personalised ads only, and your cycle data is never shared with the ad network.
Your data
How do I delete my data?
In Profile, tap Delete Account & Data. This removes everything from your iPhone and your iCloud backup straight away. Deleting the app also removes the data on that phone.
Can I share my history with a doctor?
Yes. In Profile, tap Export Health Report to make a PDF of your cycles and symptoms that you can print or send.
Where can I read the privacy policy?
It's at arbazsiddiqui.me/app/iris/privacy, written in plain language.
